peak virginia autism conference

Springfield, VA  - May 4-5, 2017

*Virginia Educators must obtain 180 professional development hours every 5 years to renew their license.*

Two options to earn hours are (1) Attending a Professional Conference and (2) Earning graduate credit.

To attend the PEAK Virginia Autism Conference an Educator can earn the following:  5 points per day for participation and 15 points per day for topic presented.  This two day conference is available for 20 points per day or 40 points for the entire conference.

Educators may choose instead to earn more points by registering for graduate credits.  Each semester hour is equal to 30 professional development points.  One to three graduate credits are available; therefore up to 90 professional development points are available.  Cost of the graduate credits is $250/credit and is addition to the conference.  Registration for graduate credits is available online or at the conference.

1-3 graduate credits are offered at this conference through Marian University.  Marian is accredited (see below*)in all 50 states.  The cost is $250 per credit (This is an additional cost separate from the registration cost to attend the conference).  Graduate credit is earned through conference attendance (70% of grade) and completion of a research paper (30% of grade).
